About this writer for boys

Jessica Scott Kerrin is an author who is most known for Martin Bridge, a series of award-winning adventure books for boys. Her newest series, The Lobster Chronicles, will be launched this spring, 2012. Critiques from Horn Book, Kirkus Starred Reviews and the Globe and Mail claim that her collection of stories adds a much-needed boy hero to early chapter-book readers, aged 9-12. It turns out that girls like these stories, too. Over 140,000 copies have sold to date.

Considered an expert on what boys read, Jessica supports new writers by delivering tailored presentations about writing for boys at conferences and workshops and literary festivals as well as school presentations. She also offers book club kits for schools outside of Nova Scotia, Canada, as well as writing mentorships. In addition to writing, Jessica has managed galleries, dance schools and museums, working closely with visual artists, performers and curators. Jessica also freelances for travel magazines about her family’s outdoor sailing adventures aboard their boat, Cape Fear.
